Emergency First Aid at Work

The Emergency First Aid at Work Course is a level 2 Qualification and the qualification lasts for 3 years. Annual refresher courses are advised as this will keep your skill levels up. The duration of the course is one day (6 Hours).

The syllabus covers such topics as:

  • Role and Responsibilities of a First Aider
  • Incident and Casualty Assessment
  • CPR
  • Unconscious Casualty Breathing Normally
  • Management of a seizure
  • Choking Casualty
  • Shock
  • External Bleeding
  • Minor Injuries
  • Completing Accident Report Form

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explain the role and responsibilities of the first aider
  • Assess and manage an incident
  • Assess and manage an unconscious casualty who is not breathing
  • Assess and manage an unconscious casualty who is breathing normally
  • Recognise and assist a casualty who is choking
  • Recognise and manage a casualty in shock
  • Manage a casualty with both internal and external bleeding
  • Recognise and manage minor injuries
