Train the Trainer November 2019

November 15 @ 9:45 am - 4:30 pm | £295.00

Train the Trainer
Friday 15th November 2019

Many people are finding themselves in a position where training is becoming an essential part of their role, either to service users and/or staff members. Whilst there are no requirements currently for in-house trainers to have a formal training background, (other than knowledge and experience in their field of teaching), CQC is scrutinising the needs of learners and asking providers how effective their training delivery is.

Train the Trainer is a dynamic course designed to give you a thorough insight into the skills needed to deliver that training whether you are already delivering it or moving into a new role. This course covers many aspects of the Award of Education and Training (formerly PTLLS) including designing lesson plans, evaluating your training, examples of ice-breakers and varied styles of assessment.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this session participants will be able to:

  • Devise effective Learning Outcomes for sessions
  • Design Lesson Plans
  • Explain and address participants’ varied learning styles: Honey and Mumford and VARK
  • Structure effective presentations/training
  • Explain the  purpose and value of ice-breakers – and use them appropriately
  • Assess participants’ learning
  • Explain and undertake evaluation of sessions
  • List some top tips for trainers!

We have a very hands-on approach to training and there will be opportunities throughout the day to contribute towards the learning session.  All participants will be issued with a certificate of attendance at the end of the day which can be used for your CPD.

“There was an excellent range of theory and distinct practical help…”

“…Train the Trainer is inclusive, energetic and enthusiastic”

“Train the Trainer is one of the most useful courses around..!”

This course can be taken without a formal Training Qualification (such as PTLLS or AET) as you will receive a certificate of attendance covering all aspects of training others from the first day. However, the qualification gained will only be valid in your current working environment and cannot be transferred.

NOTE: Please let us know directly if you have any learning or disability requirements.
