Celebrating Oxfordshire’s Adult Social Care

On Friday 23 March, care providers took time out to celebrate Oxfordshire’s Adult Social Care.

Nearly 100 people gathered at the Kassam Stadium to share good practice and applaud outstanding individuals and services.

Oxfordshire has 13 outstanding services in County and a further 17 services have achieved an outstanding rating in at least one Key Line Of Enquiry as inspected by the Care Quality Commission.

And on Friday, Kate Terroni, Director for Adult Social Care and Cllr Lawrie Stratford, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care presented the 2018 Oxfordshire Adult Social Care Awards:

Newcomer to Care Award

  • Winner: Oliver Baldry, Penhurst Gardens, Porthaven
  • Highly Commended: Ellie McClements, Larkrise Care Centre, Orders of St John

Care Home Worker Award 

  • Winner: Angie Ledbury, Wantage Nursing Home, Sanctuary Care
  • Highly Commended: Sharon Hunt, Huntercombe Hall, Caring Homes

Home Care Worker Award

  • Winner: Claire King, Goldsmith Care Agency
  • Highly Commended: Jo Smith, Bluebird Care (South Oxfordshire)

Care Employer Award

  • Winner: Peverel Court Care
  • Highly Commended: Style Acre

Oxfordshire Hero Award 

  • Winner: Andrej Ivanovic, Style Acre
  • Highly Commended: Lins Howard-Dean & Rosemary Dean, Oxfordshire Shared Lives Scheme

Registered Manager Award

  • Winner: Fran Torres, Merryfield House Nursing Home, Peverel Court Care
  • Highly Commended: Lynda Gardner, Oxford Aunts Care
