Responsibilities: Essential Requirements are:
• 5+ O levels/GCSE/CSE or equivalent; grades A-C including Maths & English;
• Experience of working with older people and an understanding approach to their needs
• Experience of working collaboratively with other statutory and voluntary agencies
• Experience of diagnosing individual issues and providing relevant information and support to vulnerable people to act on the information
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to relate to people at all levels and in differing circumstances
• Very good IT skills including Microsoft: Excel & Word; email, internet etc and the ability to keep accurate, up to date records using client management system;
• Knowledge of the locality;
• Strong values of dignity and respect for older people and their right to choice and control over their lives
• An holistic approach to providing services and support to older people
• Passionate about supporting and helping people
Is able to:
• Work to deadlines
• Be organised, able to prioritise & work well under pressure
• Be committed to working within a team but able and confident to work independently
• Deal appropriately with sensitive and confidential matters
• Prepared to work flexibly including occasional evening and weekends
• Use of a car is essential
• this post will be subject to a DBS check
