You’ll support people with a learning disability, autism or both, at home and in the community to live life in the way they choose. You don’t necessarily need experience as we provide full training.

In this role based in Chalgrove, you’ll join a well-established team in supporting adults who have complex physical needs and learning disabilities. Leading busy, active lives and keen to try new things, they are looking for people to support them to do the things they enjoy both at home and in the community.

We are recruiting to full time (37.5 hours) and part time (30 hours) positions.

You’ll support the individuals at home with cooking, household tasks, and also with their personal care and medication. They want support to enable them to do the things they enjoy, both individually and as a group, including swimming, shopping, music and day trips. You’ll be supported by a friendly, experienced team and the individual’s families are also actively involved in their lives.

About you

You’ll need good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. Respectful of people’s differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach. You can work 24/7 shifts including weekends and evenings / nights. A full driving licence is essential for some roles.

All support workers work flexible shifts to provide a 24/7 service to the people we support.

Full-time support workers work 37.5 hours plus one sleep-in a week (pay for these sleep-ins is included in the annual salary figures shown above). We also have some services where sleep-ins are not required and you may work some waking nights. The salary for these roles is £17,794 - £18,492 pa.

All support workers have the option of working additional hours or sleep-ins in a range of services and are paid £50-£70 extra per sleep-in.

Successful applicants for this role will require an enhanced DBS check, which we cover the costs.
