Personal health budget holder funding still available

Skills for Care logo

Personal Health Budget (PHB) holders who receive funding from the NHS, including those under 18, can apply for funding from Skills for Care to pay for training for themselves or their personal assistants (PAs). The funding can also be used to meet the cost of travel or hiring replacement support if a PA attends training during working hours.

Applications will be accepted up to 31 March 2017 at the latest, but this fund is limited so PHB holders are encouraged to submit at their earliest opportunity.

Organisations working with PHB holders should promote the fund and can help PHB holders to compete the application form if they need support.

Apply now.

The fund can be used for training to develop you as an employer and to develop the skills of your PA.

The fund can cover the direct costs of training and qualifications, travel and the cost of hiring replacement support whilst your usual PA is attending training.

Read about how other employers have used the fund, and see examples of training and qualifications that could be funded.

More information and useful resources about employing your own care and support staff can be found on the information hub for individual employers and personal assistants.
