UK Border Control Employer’s Guide: Acceptable Right to Work Checks

This UK Border Control guide applies to checks required on or after 16 May 2014 to establish or retain an excuse against a liability of a civil penalty for employing a person who is not permitted to work for you.

This guide applies to employers who employ staff under a contract of employment, service or apprenticeship, whether expressed or implied and whether oral or in writing. It does not apply to those who do work for you with a genuine self employed status.
