Current scheme
Connecting Displaced Migrant Care Workers with assured providers
During 2024-25 we have been connecting identified displaced migrant care workers with providers who have genuine vacancies and can offer full-time positions, as required by sponsorship licences.
Providers are supported with funding and guidance to ensure they can offer the necessary support to help displaced workers, many of whom may have had difficult employment experiences. This may include, for example, funding for onboarding, buddy schemes, training, and more.
The scheme enables an expedited route to UKVI for Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) applications. This initiative addresses a critical need, ensuring these workers receive the necessary support to continue their crucial roles in the UK social care sector.
For 2025-26, we continue to connect displaced workers and assured providers. The current success rate for displaced workers finding a new employer is 26%.

SESCA have updated the International Recruitment Hub at www.sesca.org.uk to reflect the ongoing work of the International Recruitment Project, which will now run until July 2026.
A new 'Sponsorship Support' section shares details for care providers and migrant care workers and the site is updated whenever there are guidance or policy changes.
Additionally, SESCA has added a section for migrant care workers, including guidance on how to get help if you’re being treated unfairly, steps to take if your sponsorship ends, and a directory of local support services.
